El Dub Yuh asked:

I bought 2 soft boxes, thinking that it would be simple to find stands and the actual lighting. Everything is sold as a kit, and I can’t find anything. Could I use a work light? The boxes withstand 500w. I only have the body & rings w/ no light! Help!

Work lights might start a fire. Interesting, but dangerous. You would be far better off with a set of strobes. You have kind of put the cart before the horse. [who] Perki88

your going to need some heads.

You can buy heads seperatly quite easily

you’ll need a power pack too

you can buy kits sans softboxes also

There are a lot of options, just don”t put a tungsten light in there. [who] cedykeman1

Full spectrum fluorescent lighting is available and it will more evenly illuminate your light boxes.

It is cooler light, not so energy demanding and requires only reflectors (placed below to disperse light and provide even distribution) and the mounting hardware for the tubes.

As for the dimensions of your boxes, they should have provided some information with ‘the kit’ as to where you could obtain the lights.

You can’t use a work light… it is not color correct (tungsten) and produces intense heat which might not only melt and discolor the inside surface of your surface area but actually catch on fire.

Try this: [who] FotoZ 4 FX
