Nicholas asked:

I’m into film and for Christmas i want to get a lighting kit to improve the lighting in my videos. What kind of lighting fixtures are preferred with film: softbox lights or umbrella lights or perhaps even another kind of light?

From what I have seen, square or rectangular softboxes. I don’t shoot video myself, but based on what they sell, I think its very heavily favoring square and rectangular versus octagonal or bounce umbrellas. I’m not sure you couldn’t do a shoot through type umbrella. But generally from what I’ve seen, constant lighting seems to strongly favor square. Good Luck. [who] bbshady
