What is the best lighting to get that deep black seen in maternity photographs?

I love the look of the deep black photographs of mother (dressed in black) and bare child. It gives such an emotional look to the shot. I’m wondering what lighting is used to get this dramatic look.

    you will find that lighting is important. 2 things you need to know. one thing is the back ground. you need the proper back ground. you need a material that reflects less light. you need a light that is shoot in a way to not shoot straight at the back ground. you can use a fix light and make sure the back ground far enough away from the subject to not show the light reflection. don’t forget to have a light behind the subject and have it on there head and shoulders.
