laura asked:

My husband is into photography as a hobby and has been talking about getting some lighting to take portrait type photos. What brand/type of lighting could I buy him for his birthday without spending a ton of money? I don’t have any knowledge about photography so help would be great.

first thing to buy is umbrellas. the light difussion is a real magazine look. there cheap and more then anything else they really get your model in a professional mind state. ofcourse if you can buy some lamps to go with them. [who] micheal t

I would have asked his opinion before buying anything. Portraits can be done pretty easy without any expensive equipment too by the way. I personally shoot portraits as hobby too and being an amateur dont want to invest too much in equipment. But you can buy these once you know what you want and at what price. This may be a good start [who] karumba
