What is the best kind of lighting to use in a room without direct sunlight?
Vicki asked:
The lighting is for a bedroom that has only one window, which is in an alley.
I would like the room to look light and airy without using lighting that is harsh or glaring.

That is up to you. What effect do you want? Do you need light for reading, or just enough to see where you are going so that you do not stub your toes? The amount of light will vary from source to source. Fluorescent is one way, or good old incandescent lamps. You can use indirect which is done by bouncing the light off of the ceiling, or walls, or just use lamp stands. It all really depends on what you want.. [who] kerry k
