I am interested in a career in photography and would like to study up on everything so I can take good photographs. What is a good book I can buy from Books A Million on lighting and exposure?

I don’t know if it’s on Books A Million, but look for Joe McNally’s “The Moment It Clicks.” It’s not your typical “how to” book, but it makes for very interesting reading. By the time you are DONE with the book, you will have learned a lot.

Someone else will have to recommend a nuts and bolts book, but the McNally book is a fun read and educational. [who] Sam

I didn’t check at Books A Million so you’ll have to do that but here are some books worth reading.

“Understanding Exposure” & “Understanding Shutter Speed”, both by Bryan Peterson.

“Portrait Photography Handbook” by Monte Zucker.

“Basics Photography: Lighting” by David Prakel

“Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light from Small Flashes” by Joe McNally.

“David Busch’s Quick Snap Guide to Lighting” by David Busch.

A web search at Barnes & Noble found 87 titles concerning photographic lighting. [who] Edwin
