What are my options for more lighting in a rental apartment?
Jamie asked:
My apartment does not have enough lighting but I hate when lamps are scattered all over the place. Is there an alternative to lamps when you are renting?

yes, candle, candlabrabras, lanterns w/ kerosene/lamp oil, faux candles (battery powered, and I have a neat glowing crystal that sold for 40 dollars-its a “night light.” Hurricanes lamps are a great addition, and old fashioned coal lanterns or even chianese latern adds a festive touch. You can even disguise a lamp is you have a creative bent. Christmas lights add a touch of whimsy and you can easily conceal them. [who] khole12
During the day you could open your curtains/blinds to let in more light, but there is really no other choice than lamps for adding more light at night, especially in an apartment. Battery powered LED lights are becoming quite common. There are desk lamps and even floor lamps with LED bulbs. However, LED lighting can be expensive, so shop around. [who] mindshift
