What kind of studio lighting should I use for teaching videos?

Rob L asked:

I will be shooting in a very small (9 feet square) room. It’s windowless and has a very strong fluorescent overhead light that is too bright in places and casts extreme shadows.

I will be shooting myself teaching at a green marker board, and would like a nice even light that reduces shadows.

What kind of lighting can I rig up on a budget (less than $200 for starters)?
