Should I use PAR30 or PAR38 lights for basement recessed lighting?
shektbg asked:
I am finishing my basement and have installed 6″ recessed lighting housings. I don’t know if I would be better off installing baffles and trim for PAR 30 or PAR 38 halogen lighting. Any suggestions or thoughts?? Which is more common?

that really depends on the trim that you use. if it is wide then use par38 if it tapers in as it goes into the can use par 30. either one you use will give you a similiar light output. par 30 is more common. if your socket position in the can is movable make sure you get par 30 short necks if not get par 30 long necks. let me know which manufacturer you used and what model #’s and i can tell you exactly which lamps to use [who] my3rdbaseebay
