jackie asked:

Is a 750 w. continuous light enough brightness for taking stills of my artwork for a catalog ?

Should I rent the Profoto 1200 Acute instead ? They said it was too much power for a small shooot.

WHat kind of lighting should I use for magazine shoots ?

You want indirect natural light. Try facing your art toward a window on a slightly overcast day (where there is some light coming through the window, but it’s not beams of bright light). and taking it then. [who] Lauren P

    the 750W should be fine,

    I like the Alien Bees B800 –
You can get by with one and a softbox. [who] Sandy

Actually you should have at least 2 lights. A main light and a fill light. The main should be at a 45 degree angle to the subject and about 3 feet higher than the camera. The fill should be right next to the camera at the same height as the camera. You want a 1 to 3 lighting ratio. That set up will give you pro results. [who] dms47949
