Robert H asked:

LED lighting uses much less electricity than normal lighting, doesn’t it? So, why isn’t it used instead of conventional lighting?

They are starting to come out with it now – it is fairly expensive though as it is new technology. And yes, you’re right it uses very little electricity compared to conventional bulbs and even CFL’s. [who] sen_dog14

It’s still more expensive than conventional lighting. It doesn’t seem to be hampered by the problems that flourescent lighting has (noise, not as bright, etc). But until it becomes dirt cheap AND it has a color that’s indistinguishable from incandescent, incandescent will remain king, sadly. [who] Miguel D
