I believe in most, or all states, as long as your lighting does not make you look like a police bike, you are fine. In fact, I would think all states welcome making your bike more visible.
Just don’t change the colors of your brake lights, and don’t put anything on the bike that may blind other drivers (with the exception of the headlight).
In north carolina, there is a blue/red light law. Technically, it applies to all motor vehicles and blue/red lights visible ANYWWHERE on or in the car. If it is not factory, it could be considered illegal. Try and stay away from red and blue. [who] tekwatcher
As long as you dont resemble a police as in blinking blue lights you should be fine. I live in Indiana and have ground effect L.E.D lighs around my street bike and they seem to be fine about it. I have had police complements on them. [who] Billy Stevenson
You can add lights to the engine or the underbelly of the bike but you cannot interfere with front or back lights by adding any other colour than the standard white in front and red at the back ie you cant add blue, green, yellow, etc LED`s around or near the back or front of the bike ! [who] Daz K
