Is a broken light switch where the light stays on dangerous?

I live in an older apartment on the second floor of a house. My landlord has been away for the weekend and I am by no means an electrician so I cannot fix this problem. However, I have a broken light switch. The light in the bathroom is now constantly on and I cannot control it with the light switch. Is this dangerous?

One of my concerns is the grounding of the light AND the switch! To answer your question, MOSY DEFINITELY this is a dangerous situation!! That switch may develop a live short!! this means anyone touching it stands a good cahnce to get electricuted, especially if their hands are damp or wet from washing in the sink, or taking a shower!! this can also lead to an electrical live short and that could lead to an electrical fire inside the switch, the fixture, or the walls or cieling!!
Find the breaker or fuse and throw the breaker to the bathroom, or remove the bathroom fuse, and get it fixed immediately!!!
This is a very dangerous, hazzardous situation!! [who] Rawstuff 007
No, just keep the switch in the on position until your landlord returns, bad switches are a problem when they are switched on and of, which could create a spark. Replace as soon as possible. [who] joseph s
It could be dangerous – there is no way to know with out looking. Does the toggle not move or does it move and not have any effect? Better to err on the side of caution. Flip the circuit breaker right away. [who] DIYpro
I doubt it is dangerous. Unscrew the bulb to make it safer. It should wait for the landlord with no problem. [who] John himself
