I want to learn how to do basic electrical wiring and lighting in my home. What’s a good resource?
Jeffrey Mc asked:
I’m looking for a resource for a complete novice — a good book, seminar, that sort of thing. How do people learn to do home wiring?

Your local big box home repair store has a greak book. It is a depot a some sort. I bought one there [who] bconehead
most people never learn but they do it themselves anyways. That’s a good way to get into trouble. IF you’re seriouslly interested in getting in the trade, there are a lot of ways to go about that but getting into school is the best start. If you just want to be doing this part time, it’s still exceptionally helpful to have some concept of how electricity works before even doing the simplest of tasks.
I’m sure there are lots of books out there but make sure you get an up to date book because of lot of advancements are made every year in this field and it’s best to know the latest and greatest info. [who] steele_luv
Believe it or not, Sears has been selling a book for a long time which should get you through most home electrical jobs. It’s only a few bucks and covers just about everything residential. Look for the oldest saleman in the hardware department and ask him for the “Electrical Book” I’ll bet you he walks you right to it. [who] DOUNVBK?
