I need help in home theater lighting?
doc’smom asked:
We are building a home and are going to have a home theater. It will be seating 20 – 30 people and has a stairway leading down to the front row of seats.(just like in a movie theater.) I would like to light the stairway. Does anyone have a home theater? What lighting did you install? Where did you buy your stairway lighting?

I would use rope lighting just like in the movie theaters. It can be found at your local home supply store (IE Home Depot or Lowes) or if you don’t like those use outdoor low voltage lighting. I would select the ones that are small and rectangular that usually go on posts or steps. [who] mark
Some wonderful forums that could be helpful in answering your question.
Specifically, the Soup to Nuts forum that is all about building your HT from scratch.

or more specifically (Dedicated Theater Design & Construction):
I have a modest HT with seating for 8, so aisle lighting wasn’t necessary for me. My room is only 15×21 so other than normal room lights (on a dimmer) that’s all that I needed.
