How do you fix a bent light socket after removing a broken light bulb?

I removed a broken light bulb in a hanging light fixture but unfortunately bent the socket enough so a new light bulb will not screw in all the way. Is there a product that would screw in the socket to reshape it? Removing the socket looks nearly impossible the way the fixture is built and replacing the light fixture will be expensive.

I think you’ll need to replace the whole thing. I’ve never heard of a re-shaper. You might try one of those plug extensions that screw into a bulb recepticle, it may be strong enough that you can really twist it and re-shape the receiver. You’ve seen those ugly extensions that add a plug in bathrooms with no plugs, just lights. Try one. good luck. [who] jyconan

NO… you need to replace it just for safety sake if nothing else. [who] johnathanapples
