How do I wire my neon lighting so it shuts off with the rest of my car?
Kipp asked:
I’ve tried hooking up my neon lighting to my amp, my extra Kinetik battery, and my car’s stock battery but they all yeild the same problem:
My neons won’t shut off with my car. There is no remote on the neon lighting but it should power off with my amp if my amp has a remote amd it is connected to my amp. Any advise?

You need a power source that is only hot when the ignition is on. you’ll need a simple volt meter to find one. cigarette lighter/ power outlet could be a good one.
look in your owners manual at the fuse block or power distribution center. don’t tap into a circuit without knowing exactly what it controls. use a relay.
the remote for your amp most likely controls the output from the amp only. the amp is still getting battery power even when the vehicle is off. [who] BEA
You probably connected your neon lamp direct to the car battery…
Connect it to the Key ON position… that’s if u wanna get the neon light to turn off after you stop ur engine… hope this helps [who] bobo
well…i personally did this with mine…but idk if you’d wanna do this…
i would wire it to my headlight relay so that when your headlights are on…your neon is on…and vice versa… [who] kyle w
