How do I pressure test a gas grill? I have problems lighting it – looks like a pressure issue?
David S asked:
When either lighting by match or ignition switch, barbecue will not light. Only after left on, covered does it build up enough pressure to light. Once lit, all the flame holes still don’t light or go out frequently.

Check the tubes underneath that supply the gas to the burners. Sometimes spiders will build nest in them blocking the gas flow. You should never close the lid for awhile with the gas on and then try to light it. Easy way to cause an explosion. [who] doane_nut
Sounds like you need to rebuild your grill. (install a new burner) [who] Bart S
Check the venturi tubes for blockage, make sure you have a full tank and if those do not work it is probably a bad regulator. A pressure test would be not only difficult but not truly indicative of the problem. A new regulator will run you $20 at Menards (the Midwest #1 home improvement chain) [who] carlos
I agree with spider problem1 They do build nest inside of tubes causing blockage. [who] davisgeo33
if the grill was built after 1995 the regulator may have to be reset. i just put on a new regulator and that was the problem. gee thats what those instructions were for. [who] missourian
Check he venturi tubes under front part of grill near your control panel. I have frequently had the problem with spiders spinning a web in there and blocking the flow. [who] Nick S
