How do I connect my laptop to a theater lighting board?

I am using a innovator 24 48 lighting board, and I have bought a ethernet cable to connect to it. I plugged in the cables today and got nothing.

   I’m guessing, but I would imagine that you would need some software in order to access the panel and therefore manipulate the lighting. Where you would get this software I know not, but if you google computerised lighting effects or something similar, then you might get lucky. Best of luck! [who] renoir
