How can I improve my lighting for videos?
Boneeva asked:
I don’t have any professional equipment but I do have two floor lamps and one desk lamp… Lately I’ve been just using one lamp in the corner with the shade off and it provides the room with a lot of light, but little of it shows up on the camera. I think maybe the camera just sucks, but what else could I do to improve the lighting?

you need to direct the light onto the subject that you’re shooting. what you have now is called base light…, also your camera may not be very good in low light. most consumer cameras aren’t. [who] dgey1
Diffused light is better than a stark lightbulb, so try using an opaque shower curtain in front of your floor lamps, and if needed, use a bright white sheet or cloth to deflect light to lighten shadows.
Natural light is always the best of course, but that isn’t always possible. In daylight, open all the curtains and make sure the light is behind the camera. [who] oldude451
