I’m doing an assignment for my theater class and I’m having trouble finding information. I need an approximate cost for lighting equipment if I were putting on a play at Delacorte Theater in NY. I’ve been trying to find information on how much has been paid in the past for theater lighting at Delacorte Theater. But I’m not having much luck. Any info would be helpful.

I was just wondering, how Ibsen would have created more of an atmosphere during the tarentella dance. what lighting would he have used to show furthur noras state of mind, keeping in mind that the play is very naturalistic and green and purple lights flashing around rapidly as nora dances is not naturalistic. Oh and i dont have a copy of the film by the way

I admit that I don’t know much about lighting. I was reading an article that said that when shooting video in a room with lots of daylight coming in through the windows, one should “color correct” the lighting fixtures in the room to get them closer to the color temperature of the daylight. What exactly does that mean and how is that done? Thanks.

I am considering a career in the area of lighting design, unfortunately there aren’t many resources online that provide much information. So I’m wondering are there any schools that provide a specializes degrees in this field. Should I go for a degree in theater with a concentration in lighting? For people who work in this field how hard is it to find a job, and how well does it pay. I’m not looking to become immediately wealthy, but I would like to know I’d be able to support myself with this job. Are there any websites or resources online that will give me more information???

Thanks so much for taking time to help me out!

I am the light technician at my high school for plays and things like that. In a couple months we are having a “battle of the bands” concert, and I’ve never done concert lighting before, just theater. What kinds of things do I need to know about concert lighting, and what are the major differences from regular theater lighting? Thanks.
