Because I have a portable mirror that sits on my window sill, I think that tells the truth.. But then When I go out.. i catch my reflection in a shop window I look horrible! Whats with that?.. I honestly think this mirror tells the truth as the daylight is hitting my face gently and theres no other lighting???.. Do you agree?

I actually want to build one for my personal use, i think they look really nice, and are helpful when appliying make up or other products on your face. My question is what kind of lighting is used for these mirrors. I know its not fluorescent ones… so if you guys could help me that would be appreciated.
