I have a 600 VA computer UPS which has internal 12V 7.5Ah Dry Battery. I wish to remove that battery and connect a car battery (88Ah). Will it work for home lighting? i dont bother about backup time. I just want will it work or not?

    Yes it will work.
Only caveat is you have to be careful not to under/overcharge the car battery. UPS has a built-in charger delivering about 1-2 Amps so if your battery is fully discharged, it will take forever to recharge. You might need external charger with higher current capacity. On the other hand, you will need to be careful not to spill acid all the time. Good luck. [who]
