Can anyone recommend a good but simple lighting rig and controller?

Purple Tentacle asked:

I need to sort out some very amateur stage lighting. It’s going to be set up in a large marquee running on a generator, so it has to be very low wattage (so LED).

The controller has to be simple so nothing elaborate. We only want to be able to switch the lights on and off and fade between colours. The users will have very little experience of these things so it has to be basic.

Any ideas?

Purple – I like the NSI MC7008 myself – very easy to set up and use:

Here’s a link to a company that sells a great plug-and-play kit containing 5 feet of color-changing LED strip light, a color controller and a plug-in adapter:

Toward the bottom of the page, there’s even a video of how to hook up the components. And if you want more than 5 feet of the strip light, you can order more, in increments of a foot. The color controller comes with a remote control, too! [who] Elemental_LED_staff

For just plug and play, go there and check.
