I was just wondering, how Ibsen would have created more of an atmosphere during the tarentella dance. what lighting would he have used to show furthur noras state of mind, keeping in mind that the play is very naturalistic and green and purple lights flashing around rapidly as nora dances is not naturalistic. Oh and i dont have a copy of the film by the way

How can I create better lighting for my wedding reception?

I am having my wedding reception in my church fellowship hall and the lighting there is 100% fluorescent. The reception is scheduled to start around 6:00 pm. I would like to just keep these lights off and use something else, but I am not sure what to use that could light the whole room without using too many different fixtures. I would like it to look more “romantic”. The hall is not all that big, just very open. Any ideas would be appreciated…

How does photography external lighting work?

I have a canon powershot sx10 and i am looking to create a cheap beginner home studio. I’m wondering what will I need (lights, umbrellas, etc) and when I take a picture how does the external flash work? Is it attached to the camera itself via a cord? Or is the flash triggered when I take a picture? I’m not talking about the flash on the camera, I’m talking about the lamps. I’ve been photographing all my life but never used ‘professional’ lighting kits before and am interested in learning to use them.

How can I fix up my bathroom lighting without replacing the fixture?

I live in an apartment in which we cannot replace fixtures n’ stuff. The lighting in my bathroom is hideous. It has a long metal panel on the wall above the mirror with three light bulbs screwed into it. CFL bulbs aren’t exactly pretty to look at. Is there something I could get to kind of cover the thing up with? I think it’s the silliest thing ever! Who want to be staring into three lightbulbs anyway?

I have an emergency lighting unit on each floor of my building. The problem is that the boxes have no exit sign. Can I remove the cover and replace it with an exit sign? Would it fit? Are the boxes and signs standard sizes? If so I would buy the signs at home depot and have an electrician install them.

The opening ceremony will be inside, in an arena, for the first time ever. The Olympic flame is always outdoors, where people all over the city can see it. But the people at the opening ceremony would want to see the lighting live, not just on some video screen. So, how will they get around this problem?

I’m trying to start my own photography business and I need some portable lighting. I want it to be easy to move around, as I will be going to people’s homes, but I would like to spend the least amount of money possible without sacrificing quality. Any suggestions would help me out a lot.
I would also like the kind of lights that flash whenever to take a picture not the kind that stays on the whole time.
